Wire Rope - Updated Last

Wire rope is made when several strands of metal wire are twisted into a helix forming a composite “rope”, in a pattern known as “laid rope”. In stricter senses, the term “wire rope” refers to a diameter larger than 3/8 inch (9.52 mm), with smaller gauges designated cable or cords. Initially wrought iron wires were used, but today steel is the main material used for wire ropes. Ropes are available in Bright and Galvanized Finish and are supplied in Lubricated / Dry Condition.
